Poetry Reading with Kathleen Flenniken

Poet Laureate Kathleen Flenniken will do a poetry reading at the library with guest Christopher Howell.

Kathleen is the 2012-2014 Washington State Poet Laureate. Her books are "Plume," a finalist for the William Carlos Williams award and a meditation on the Hanford Nuclear Site, and "Famous," winner of the Prairie Schooner Book Prize and Notable Book (ALA). Flenniken's other awards include a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Christopher Howell has published ten collections of poems, most recently Gaze (Milkweed Editions, 2012), and Dreamless and Possible: poems New & Selected (University of Washington Press, 2010). Other recent work may be found in the pages of Field, The Gettysburg Review, Pleiades, and Image. Since 1996 he has taught at Eastern Washington University’s Inland NW Center for Writers, in Spokane, where he is also director of Willow Springs Editions and director and principal editor for Lynx House Press.
