The Columbia County Rural Library District has purchased new books for children and teens that are reluctant to read. These reluctant reader books are reading levels first grade through high school. Many of the books purchased are new graphic books as well as non-fiction and fiction books. Also purchased for the adult readers are High Interest, Low Reading level books – fiction, nonfiction, and graphic books.
The Friends of the Dayton Memorial Library generously gave Columbia County Rural Library District $4,000 for the 2011 year to purchase Reluctant Reader and Hi-Lo Interest Reading level books for the Dayton Memorial Library. Books have been selected by the staff and purchased quarterly. The new adult literacy books have just arrived. More graphic books for children and teens will be purchased later this fall.
